Weekly Favourites: 23rd August 2015

1. New Lush Products

As a massive Lush fan, you can only imagine my excitement to hear that new products were coming in. Basically, I looked a bit like this. So in I went and, showing surprising restraint, left with two shower creams and a bubbleroon. I am pretty much in love with the Yuzu and Cocoa scent- it smells like chocolate orange, which is always good in my book. I wasn't totally impressed with the bubbleroon (not nearly as bubbly as I was hoping for) but the shower cream? Oh yes.

2. Nail Painting

I painted my nails this week which, if you know me, you will know is a rare occurrence. Much as I like the idea of having pretty coloured nails, whenever I attempt it myself, the end result looks like the handiwork of a three-year old. (Of course, I'm joking. A three-year old would do a much better job.) However, it was a particularly dull August day and I felt like perking myself up with a bright nail colour. I went with the Barry M Nail Paint in Eat My Dust, which did the trick quite nicely. Gotta love a pastel blue. Now just to learn to paint my nails without also painting my fingers. Tips are welcome.

3. Topshop Hayden Jeans

Can it be true? Have I finally abandoned my obsession with skinny jeans? Well...no, not really. My love for black skinny jeans will never die, no matter how many magazines and trend reports try to convince me bootcut jeans are back in (that one I'm never going to jump for). However, as of late I've been loving the look of boyfriend jeans.  I had never found a pair that I liked the fit of but, upon finding these bad boys in the Topshop sale, I snapped them up like a turtle. Yes, they might make me look a bit heftier than my trusty high-waisted skinnys, but they have a cool and casual kind of vibe that I've really been liking. Additional plus: they are hella comfortable.

4. Cotton Candy Grapes

I remember a period last year when Lily Pebbles kept raving about these grapes in her daily vlogs. Originally I thought 'they can't be that great, they're just grapes'. Oh how wrong I was. I don't understand how but they honestly taste like strawberry candyfloss. When I first opened the pack, they even smelled a bit like candyfloss. I don't know how they did it, they must be wizards.

5. Movie-going

This week, after a lot of umming and ahhing, my boyfriend and I signed up for Cineworld Unlimited cards. So far we've used it to see two films- both are technically meant for children. We have no shame (although sitting in a screen filled with small children plus one lonely guy in the corner may have been slightly offputting). We went to see Inside Out, which was amazing, and Minions, which was....miniony. I think it's safe to say I've reached my threshold for them now. Enough with the bloody bananas.
